About

Hei — I’m Mira.

I’m a character designer and illustrator working out of a small studio in Bergen that smells permanently of tea. I build casts for games and picture books: soft shapes, loud personalities, palettes small enough to memorize. Most of what you’ll find here comes from the Duskmoss world — a damp, lantern-lit place I’ve been drawing since art school and apparently cannot stop.

My process is stubbornly simple: silhouette first, then flats, then one good light source. I design characters the way you’d pack a rucksack — everything must earn its place, and the kettle comes anyway. Clients usually get the full kit from me: turnarounds, expression and pose sheets, color studies, and final key art that survives being shrunk to an app icon.

Design the silhouette first. The rest is bookkeeping.

Right now I’m teaching myself 2D animation — idle loops, blinks, the occasional very determined bounce — and it’s the most fun I’ve had since discovering the smudge tool. Commissions are open for character packages and picture-book work; the fastest way to reach me is hello@mirasolen.art.
